Pastor

Mark has served as pastor of the Indian Creek Church of the Brethren since 1996.  Prior to that, he served 9 years as pastor of the Locust Grove CoB, Hagerstown, IN. Mark is a graduate of Grace Theological Seminary, Winona Lake, IN.

Mark has been married to Reba for 37 years.  They have four adult children, three children in-law, and two very awesome granddaughters.

Besides typical pastoral ministries, Mark is also very involved in music, singing with the church choir, with one of our praise teams, and with the children in our annual week of Summer Bible School.  He also  assists with audio/visual set-up and with our website and social media content.

Over the years, Mark's personal hobbies and interests have included singing, sailing, sports, hiking, rock-climbing, stamp-collecting, amature theater, local basketball officiating, home improvement tasks, and time spent with his family.

Mark enjoys writing and is the author of a commentary on the book of Acts in the Brethren New Testament Commentary Series, published by the Brethren Revival Fellowship.

Mark's passion in ministry is to help people encounter God deeply and genuinely by opening themselves more fully to God's work and God's word.  He is particularly eager to see people released from the chains of both cynicism (the Saducees of Jesus' day) and legalism (the Pharisees of Jesus' day) into faith and freedom in Jesus.
