Music

For many, the style and culture of worship are very important in determining where they are likely to feel most at home and where the worship would be most conducive to their own personal and spiritual growth.  Our gatherings are somewhat structured but not particularly formal.

Our music incorporates both traditional hymns and more recent expressions of worship and praise.  Sometimes we even blend the two.
(You can listen to examples of our contemporary worship songs by playing the two "praise team" audio files at the bottom of this page.)

Our church choir rehearses each week, September-December and February-April.  Rehearsals are currently Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm.

Highlights of the choir's season are the annual Christmas Eve Service and Easter Sunday. However, selections are also prepared for other occasions, including peridic Sunday morning worship services.  (You can listen to examples of our choir selections  by playing the "choir" audio files at the bottom of this page.)

Please enjoy these music recordings.  "Love Lifted Me" was led by one of our two Praise Teams recently and is an example of a traditional hymn with a newer styling. "Behold Our God" was led by our other Praise Team a few years ago and is an example of our contemporary music.  Walter Hawkins' "Thank You, Lord (for all you've done for me)" was shared by our choir with guest soloist, Jamie Downing.  "Amazing Grace" is a choral setting arranged by Jack Schrader and published by Hope Publishing Company, Carol Stream, IL. "The Impossible Dream," was sung by a men's quartet (vocal score arranged by Mark Baliles) on a special ocassion.
